Russians used Claude for cyberattacks against Ukraine. Anthropic found that a Russia-linked hacker group used AI at almost every stage of the attacks: from phishing and intercepting hotel Wi‑Fi networks to hacking WhatsApp accounts of Ukrainian officials, military personnel, and diplomats. Targets included manufacturers of components for UAVs. The hackers accessed their email and stole software for the machine vision system of one of the drones.
