🤔 Visits to Moscow and Kyiv were "very successful": Now we have a clear understanding of the next steps, - Kushner

U.S. presidential special representative Jared Kushner called his trips to Ukraine and Russia "very successful," saying that the United States now supposedly has a clear idea of what could end the war and contribute to lasting peace.

"I would say it was very successful. I think now we have a clear understanding of what the next steps should be. I believe that with any complex problem you first need to create a framework in which you clearly define: first, what exactly we are trying to achieve," Kushner said.

"In my view, this is very, very important. I think we managed to articulate that well."

"The ability to obtain up-to-date information from both sides was extremely important. Spending time with the Russians, asking them various questions, trying to understand what they see, how they perceive the situation, what flexibility they can show."

"And I think that led to new ideas that, hopefully, we will be able to discuss at a trilateral meeting soon," the special representative said.

According to Kushner, they are working to arrange a trilateral meeting.

"I think that was one of the main goals. We realized that when you can bring both sides together, it is far more productive than so-called shuttle diplomacy, if you want to ultimately reach a concrete outcome," he added.

Kushner also noted that currently "neither side has a clear understanding" of what the outcome of the end of the Russian-Ukrainian

war should be.
