☕ The Netherlands did not allow two decorated Russian gymnasts to enter the World Athletics Championships, – Russian media
Olympic champions Angelina Melnikova and Viktoriia Listunova, as well as their teams, did not receive entry documents.
The World Championships will be held from 17 to 25 October in Rotterdam. Moreover, the tournament will award the first Olympic quotas for the Games-2028, so the absence of Russia’s top athletes could complicate the entire team’s qualification chances.
Recall that Russian gymnasts had been allowed to compete under a neutral status since 2024, and in May 2026 they were also permitted to compete under the national flag.
