The Rada failed the vote on the 'Kolomoisky amendment'.

The Verkhovna Rada failed the vote on the amendment 36 to the law changing the Tax Code. Only 145 deputies voted for this amendment, among whom 115 are from the 'Servant of the People' faction, according to former MP Sergey Leshchenko, who reported it on his Telegram channel.

The author of this amendment is former journalist of the channel 1+1 Olga Vasylevska-Smahliuk. The proposed amendment envisions increasing the propane-butane excise from 52 to 136 euros per thousand liters. It also envisions decreasing the gasoline excise from 213,5 to 170 euros per thousand liters.

According to the assessment of the relevant liquefied gas association, this would lead to an increase in autogas prices by 5 hryvnias per liter and additional Ukrainian expenditures of 10 billion hryvnias annually.

“Because of the authorship of the amendment (a close associate of Kolomoisky) and his interests in the gasoline market (Kolomoisky owns the Kremenchug Refinery), this amendment earned the name ‘Kolomoisky amendment,’

the former deputy also drew attention to the fact that, through the efforts of a Servant of the People deputy, Oleksandr Dubinsky, parliament blocked the vote on Oleg Marusyak’s amendment, which would have forced Kolomoisky to conduct his business in gasoline production and sales more transparently.
