Gloomy speculation about Zelensky's true motives for closing Medvedchuk-affiliated channels has been confirmed

A step forward, two steps back. Zelensky's address concerning the closure of Medvedchuk's channels is beginning to clarify the reasons for his resolute move. Unfortunately, it is not a desire to protect the Ukrainian information space, but an attempt to stop the decline in his own political rating in favor of pro-Russian forces.

This is an important pro-Ukrainian step aimed at entering the pro-Russian electorate. Therefore the explanation was in Russian, in an ironic style, which again had to remind pro-Russian voters of the likeable 'Holoborodko'.

The next steps of the president's team this week confirm my assumption. Deputies Mykyta Poturayev and Yevheniya Kravchuk, representatives of the 'pro-Ukrainian' faction 'Servant of the People', are registering their own draft amendments to the language law, as an alternative to the openly pro-Russian Buzhansky's draft.

The stance is — you can't support the radical Buzhansky, but the law still needs to be changed. This message is aimed at lost pro-Russian voters — the president will protect you and do it more effectively than OPZZh.

Thus, once again in our history the issue of language clearly shows where politics is steering our state — toward a democratic national state or back to a Russian colony. So keep a close watch on votes regarding the language law and attempts to change it. Any attempts to amend it are to Ukraine's detriment.
