"The reform of the financial sector and the transformation of the National Bank began after the victory of the Revolution of Dignity in March–April 2014. I am very grateful to Stepan Kubiv, who invited me to the National Bank of Ukraine, and to Valeria Gontareva, who believed in the ideas of reform and led them. In order to build a new-generation financial system we concentrated on four main components – ensuring macroeconomic stabilization and financial stability, strengthening the institutional capacity of regulators, and protecting the rights of consumers and investors. Much has been done, much remains to be done, but I consider my mission of laying the foundation for reforms accomplished."
