Owner of "Mykhailivskyi": Rozhkova forced me to sell the bank to Kaufman

Businessman Viktor Polishchuk accuses Deputy Governor of the National Bank Kateryna Rozhkova of putting pressure on the management of Mykhailivskyi Bank to force the sale of the bank.

He said this on the air of one of the television channels.

"At the beginning of February Platinum Bank, represented by Zinkov (Dmytro Zinkov), the bank’s curator, approached Mykhailivskyi Bank, represented by Doroshenko (Ihor Doroshenko), with an offer to buy Mykhailivskyi. We refused," Polishchuk said.

"For 2 weeks Rozhkova (Kateryna Rozhkova) summoned Doroshenko to her office and insistently forced him to reconsider the purchase of Mykhailivskyi by Platinum Bank," he said.

Polishchuk reported that after that, as the owner, he set the price for the bank at 200 million hryvnias.

"In April I, as the owner, stepped back from making decisions and handed Mykhailivskyi Bank over for an audit by Platinum, represented by Kaufman (Boris Kaufman), Zinkov (Dmytro Zinkov) and Hurtovyi (Hryhoriy Hurtovyi), for integration into Platinum. An audit took place in April and on 19 May I officially sold the bank to Kaufman for 200 million hryvnias," Polishchuk stated.

He said that those 200 million hryvnias went to repay his loan obligations to Mykhailivskyi Bank, after which he removed 3 assets from collateral.

Polishchuk recalled that on 19 May Doroshenko and the entire Mykhailivskyi Bank team moved to work at Platinum Bank.

The businessman also said he is ready to undergo a polygraph test together with Kateryna Rozhkova and Boris Kaufman.

As reported, on 2 November the National Bank of Ukraine denied the statement by Mykhailivskyi Bank owner Viktor Polishchuk that he had agreed the sale of the financial institution with the NBU prior to its being declared insolvent and that he was not involved in fraudulent actions at the bank.

In May an external administration was introduced at Mykhailivskyi Bank. It was later reported that the day before this the bank sold its loans to other financial companies.
