How much students will be paid from September: MP named all amounts

Deputy head of the Servant of the People faction, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Yuliia Hryshyna published the full list of scholarships, the amounts of which will double from 1 September — from basic academic scholarships to named presidential awards for gifted youth. This was reported by Hlavkom with reference to the deputy’s Telegram channel.

According to the deputy, increasing scholarships is not the only measure for educators before the new academic year: a further stage of teachers’ salary increases is planned in parallel. However, for students the scholarship is often the main source of funds for dormitory, transportation, and daily expenses, so Hryshyna emphasized this area.

Basic academic scholarships

higher education: from 2 000 to 4 000 UAH (increased for certain specialties – from 2 550 to 5 100 UAH);

professional pre-higher education (colleges): from 1 510 to 3 020 UAH (increased – from 1 930 to 3 860 UAH);

vocational education: from 1 250 to 2 500 UAH.

Named scholarships of the Cabinet of Ministers

up to 5 000 UAH – for vocational education recipients;

6 040 UAH – for college students;

8 000 UAH – for students of higher education institutions.

Scholarships for gifted youth

the president’s scholarship for winners of Olympiads and the Minor Academy of Sciences (MAN) – from 2 600 to 5 200 UAH;

the Cabinet’s scholarship for the Olympiad in Ukrainian language and literature – from 2 360 to 4 720 UAH;

the Taras Shevchenko scholarship for schoolchildren – from 2 720 to 5 440 UAH;

the presidential scholarship named after P. Yatsyk and T. Shevchenko – 2 840 UAH for pupils, 5 740 UAH for college students, 7 600 UAH for HEI students;

the president’s scholarship for young artists – 2 500 UAH for students of art lyceums, 7 600 UAH for colleges, 10 000 UAH for bachelors and masters.

Hryshyna also clarified how the state will finance this increase.

“To provide for this increase, in the State Budget for 2026 year the parliament allocated 1,2 billion UAH more, and to implement the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky the Ministry of Education and Science prepared, and the Cabinet of Ministers adopted the relevant decisions,” Hryshyna said.

The amounts of basic academic scholarships cited by the deputy match the amounts previously named by the Ministry of Finance.

Recall that the Cabinet had already reported in June about doubling academic and named scholarships from 1 September 2026 year, and the Ministry of Finance later provided details, also naming the amount of the presidential scholarship – 20 thousand UAH per month.
