Appeal to Ukrainians living outside Ukraine

A full-scale war is ongoing in Ukraine. The Ukrainian nation is fighting Russia for its right to exist and to have its own state. The stakes are extremely high and there will be only one winner — Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

Today the Russian horde is using forms and methods of warfare to destroy our state that are characteristic of the war criminals of Nazi Germany: Ukrainian towns and villages are being completely destroyed along with their civilian populations — children, teenagers, pregnant women, and the elderly.

Can one imagine that in the 21st century entire cities and even regions would be erased from the face of the earth? Today it is enough to look at the center of Ukraine’s food industry and construction sector — the city of Volnovakha. All infrastructure has been completely destroyed. Unfortunately, a city like Volnovakha no longer exists. These are crimes on a global scale. Even in 1941 the Nazi troops, while occupying the city, preserved it in its original form.

And what is happening to one of the most beautiful cities in Europe — Mariupol? Russian aviation drops from 50 to 100 bombs on the city’s residents every day. Due to daily shelling and bombardment about 80% of the city’s housing stock has been destroyed along with its residents. Russia commits similar crimes against humanity in Kharkiv, Melitopol, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Irpin, Bucha.

In addition, the Russian army is deliberately destroying hospitals, schools, cultural monuments, museums, and on occupied territories is cleansing everything Ukrainian — destroying architectural monuments, burning cultural centers and Ukrainian-language publications, torturing and physically killing people who defend their right to be Ukrainians.

The result of Russia’s “denazification” has already been the deaths of 139 children, and 205 more have been injured. And all these horrors are happening in the center of Europe, which is a source of democracy, tolerance, and a promoter of the highest human values.

Only the resilience, courage, and unity of the Ukrainian nation determine our future and Ukraine’s future.

We are very grateful to Western countries and their leaders for supporting our state in the fight against the Russian invader. At the same time, the steps our Western partners have taken for us are insufficient and do not currently allow stopping Putin’s war crimes against Ukraine. Long hesitations by politicians and their mistaken belief that the war will not affect other peoples lead to increased brazenness and cynicism in the actions of the Russian fascist forces and foster in them a sense of impunity.

Therefore, we, concerned Ukrainians who stand shoulder to shoulder with our army and carry out combat operations directly on the territory of Ukraine — near Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Izium, Mariupol, Kherson — call on you, Ukrainians living in the USA, Canada, Australia, the countries of Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, to carry out large-scale active actions (organizing demonstrations, actions, preparing and signing appropriate petitions to your governments, etc.) to support and secure victory for Ukraine in this bloody war.

The result of this should be the mobilization of the whole world to overcome the greatest evil of the 21st century, the adoption of practical measures by the international community to stop the genocide of the Ukrainian people, the bloodshed, and to restore peace in the very heart of Europe.

If during the Nazi occupation the world could unite and jointly resist this onslaught, what has changed today? Have we become weaker or not? For many years we believed in democratic values, respect, and tolerance toward other peoples. What has happened today? Has what we believed in turned out to be empty words?

Today more than ever we must unite around a common problem and speak with one voice to defend, through democratic means, our rights and faith in a dignified future. In our view, such actions should include:

- increasing financial assistance to Ukraine, including regarding armaments and military equipment;

- closing Ukraine’s airspace;

- selling (providing) long-range air and missile defense systems;

- selling (providing) modern combat aircraft and helicopters;

- selling (providing) offensive (heavy) weaponry for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (tanks, armored personnel carriers, armored wheeled vehicles, long-range artillery systems, multiple launch and rocket artillery systems, counter-battery systems);

- selling (supplying) Ukraine with strike-capable strategic unmanned aerial vehicles;

- selling (providing) anti-ship strike systems;

- selling (providing) modern communications systems.

It is necessary to actively advance political and economic demands that will effectively stop Putin, save the lives of millions of Ukrainians, and bring us closer to victory:

- expulsion of Russia from the permanent membership of the UN Security Council and depriving it of participation in other international organizations as an aggressor state;

- introduction of additional sanction packages to impose a full trade blockade on Russia;

- intensification of efforts to collect evidence to bring Russia and its leadership before the International Criminal Court.

Do not be indifferent! Indifference and delay facilitate crimes!

Remember that the fate of Ukraine and millions of Ukrainians is also in your hands!
