NABU allocates almost 10 million hryvnias for face recognition equipment

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau plans to purchase five hardware-software complexes for facial recognition. Funds for the equipment amount to 9,8 million hryvnias, and delivery is expected by 20 December this year.

According to KV, this is stated in an announcement in the electronic public procurement system Prozorro.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine 25 August plans to hold a tender for the purchase of hardware-software facial recognition complexes. The expected cost of the procurement is 9 million 891 thousand 123 hryvnias excluding VAT. The equipment is planned to be purchased at the expense of the state budget within the framework of funding for NABU activities.

As KV found out from the tender documentation, in total the Bureau wants to obtain five sets of equipment. In the technical description of the procurement item it is noted that the total number of facial images in the manufacturer's search database must be at least 50 000 000 000 units. Recognition of biometric facial parameters in video and photo files in formats JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, HEIC, MP4, MOV, AVI. There is also a condition of access from any computer device and a mobile application, a service for searching for similar faces on the Internet and social networks, and more.

The supplier must deliver the equipment to NABU building at Denys Monastyrskyi Street, 3 in Kyiv by 20 December 2026 year. Participants in the bidding are required, in particular, to confirm experience in executing a similar contract and provide information about possible involvement of subcontractors or co-performers.

As a reminder, NABU plans to carry out repairs of its administrative building premises located on Denys Monastyrskyi Street. The works are estimated at 11 million hryvnias, with offices to be updated by mid-December this year.
