“Poor” Parasyuk: cars like gloves, an apartment in Pechersk and an empty declaration

But that did not prevent him from changing three cars in two years and living on the elite Lesia Ukrainka Boulevard in the city center. At the same time, Parasyuk submitted his declaration only one day before criminal liability for false income declaration was introduced.

About that same amount the deputy’s relatives — his father and mother, listed in the declaration — were able to earn together in the year 2015.

Notably, in February of 2016 journalists caught the deputy arriving at the Verkhovna Rada in an expensive white Ford Mondeo. The price for such a car starts from 809 thousand hryvnias, while the top configuration costs more than 950 thousand hryvnias.

At the beginning of the year Parasyuk was driving a Ford Mondeo. And last summer Volodymyr Parasyuk drove a Skoda Superb. In a dealership this car costs from 736 thousand hryvnias to 1,3 million.

According to fellow MP Ihor Lutsenko, it is in this building that the people's representative lives. The building itself is located in an elite area of Pechersk in the city center.

In his declaration Volodymyr Parasyuk did not indicate ownership of any real estate at all. Data on ownership of an apartment in the multi-story building and about family members are not indicated. The deputy’s father and mother have only a residential house of 100 square meters and a land plot of 0,6 hectares. For reference, the price of a 2-room apartment in this area in a building of similar construction is about 85 thousand dollars, and a 3-room one is about 130 thousand dollars. Renting a three-room apartment in the same building where the people's deputy lives is offered for 15 thousand hryvnias per month.

Perhaps it was renting an apartment that Volodymyr Parasyuk decided on. And the notorious compensation for deputies for apartment rent, which, according to journalist and blogger Denys Kazanskyi, amounts to 10 thousand hryvnias per month, came in handy like never before. On the list of those who received such compensation for December last year was Volodymyr Parasyuk, where along with him are Zakarpattia oligarch Mykhailo Lanyo, the Dobkin brothers, Oleksandr Vilkul, and another 172 people's deputies who, apparently, cannot afford to rent an apartment in Kyiv.

Recall that, as previously reported, Parasyuk himself was not injured in the incident, while shrapnel damaged cars parked nearby. The police also commented on the assassination attempt. In turn, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groysman demanded that law enforcement provide Parasyuk with protection. The speaker also spoke about an SBU report that mentions statistics on attempts on the lives of Ukrainian deputies.
