Media: Former MP Khomutynnyk subjected to searches; he is suspected of appropriating more than 14 million dollars

As reported by media citing their sources in law enforcement, former MP, relative of Serhiy Prytula Vitaliy Khomutynnyk, had a search conducted yesterday.

"The searches were conducted as part of an investigation into the appropriation of more than half a billion hryvnias during the construction of the Kyiv metro," a source said.

Most likely, this refers to a series of searches that head of the National Police's Strategic Investigations Department Andriy Rubel had previously announced on his Facebook page.

He stated that 22 in December police conducted about 30 searches regarding the possible misappropriation and legalization by the organizers of the deal of 530 million UAH received as payment for construction works.

In 2018 year, a contract between Kyiv Metro and the contractor was signed for 5,9 billion UAH, financed for 4 billion UAH. However, the planned works were completed only for 60%. In October 2022 year, as advance payments, another 530 million UAH were transferred to accounts of controlled enterprises, even though the enterprises did not have the appropriate skilled workers and own special equipment.
