Ukrposhta prepares an unexpected service for Ukrainians abroad: what will change from 1 September

Ukrposhta will join the updated state service "Online Marriage 2.0". The company will deliver marriage certificates to Ukrainians who married remotely through the Diia app, abroad.

When will the delivery of certificates start

The new capability will operate within the framework of the service update " Online Marriage 2.0 ", said the company’s CEO Ihor Smilyanskyi.

According to him, Ukrposhta, Diia, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine joined the new format. It concerns the delivery of marriage certificates outside Ukraine.

The first country to which we will start delivering marriage certificates already in September will remain a surprise for now,

How the new service will work

After an online wedding ceremony via the Diia app, Ukrposhta will handle the delivery of paper marriage certificates. Thus, Ukrainians will not have to return to Ukraine just to obtain the document.

The company noted that the "Online Marriage" service has been operating in Ukraine for two years: in 2026 year 40% of all marriages in the country were registered electronically. After the launch of international delivery, the entire process—from filing the application to receiving the certificate—can be completed remotely:

submit an application;

hold a video ceremony;

officially register the marriage;

receive the certificate abroad.

Ukrposhta will deliver documents to 48 countries

In the first stage, the service will cover 48 countries in Europe and around the world. According to Smilyanskyi, this is about a quarter of all countries in the world. At the same time, he noted that delivery will not be made to Russia or Belarus.

After launching the first international direction in September, Ukrposhta plans to gradually expand the service geography. In total, three stages are envisaged, after which delivery should cover all 48 reported countries.

Recall that thanks to digital services, the procedure for registering a marriage has become completely online and does not require personal presence at the civil registry office.

For defenders of Ukraine, there is a priority access to the service. They undergo identification through the "Army +" app, gain rapid access to the service in Diia, and can choose special priority time slots for registration.
