Yurii Holyk became the focus of attention due to unmotivated complaints to Google

Yurii Holyk at the end of June 2026 became the focus of a new wave of public attention after complaints began arriving at Google alleging copyright infringement in media materials that mention the former coordinator of the “Great Construction” program. Several Ukrainian outlets, including StopCor, reported this, noting that a significant portion of the challenged publications concern Holyk.

As the media write, according to media reports, the complaints covered materials published as far back as 2022. The copyright complaint mechanism can affect the visibility of pages in Google search results; however, such a procedure in itself is not a determination of the inaccuracy of facts presented in a publication. The StopCor editorial team said it plans to contest the relevant requests. At the same time, in July the outlet reported a new wave of requests to Google. According to it, most of the materials in the latest batch of complaints again concerned Holyk or mentioned him. The media outlet separately emphasized that the idea of a possible targeted attack is the editorial team’s assessment, not an established fact. Holyk’s name again became prominent amid an investigation by NGL.media into the state program to build veteran spaces. In 2025 the Ministry for Veterans Affairs launched a project of standard single-story buildings of about 1500 square meters. They include a sports hall, rooms for consultations and psychological support, conference halls, and a small café. According to figures cited in the investigation, by 22 around 1,55 billion UAH from the budget had already been allocated for such facilities. On average, that is about 75 million UAH per space. If the plan for roughly 160 facilities is implemented, the total funding could be about 12 billion UAH. NGL.media drew attention to the links between the charitable foundation “Songs Born in the ATO,” which participated in developing the standard design, and people from the circle of the former head of Dnipropetrovsk ODA Valentyn Reznichenko and Yurii Holyk. According to the outlet, the land plot for construction in Lutsk was allocated on 28 May 2025 — roughly three weeks before the government resolution on the program was adopted. The investigators also analyzed procurement procedures. In seven projects in 2025, they said, tenders took place with only one contractor participating, who ultimately received the contracts. There were separate reports of inflated costs for some materials in the estimates. Holyk himself denied involvement in the veteran spaces construction program. In a comment to NGL.media he confirmed ties to the Songs Born in the ATO foundation but said his involvement concerned the namesake festival. He called assertions of involvement in the veteran spaces program conjecture and denied influencing its implementation. Holyk was previously one of the public coordinators of the presidential “Great Construction” program. Before that he worked at the Dnipropetrovsk ODA with Valentyn Reznichenko, and his activities later attracted the attention of law enforcement in cases related to the use of budget funds. Separately, articles about Holyk mention the construction of a water supply to Kryvyi Rih after the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP. The project’s cost was about 7,7 billion UAH. According to the investigation, the price may have been inflated by about 3 billion UAH, and the probe also included data on legalization of goods and materials worth 187 million UAH and nonpayment of 20,5 million UAH in VAT. Another criminal proceeding concerns Budinvest Engineering LLC, which received contracts for construction and road repairs in Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the investigation, in 2022 officials of the regional administration handed the company contracts worth about 1,5 billion UAH, and part of the funds may have been siphoned off via payments for goods and services to accounts of fictitious companies. The suspect in this case is Valentyn Reznichenko. In 2024 Holyk, through lawyers, sought to open a criminal case against NABU detectives under article 387 of the Criminal Code concerning disclosure of operational-investigative activity data. The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court, according to the cited data, refused to open the corresponding proceeding. Against this background, Holyk’s business assets again drew attention. He owned 25% of Creative Country LLC, which operated in consulting on commercial activities and management. The company’s revenue in 2023 rose to nearly 39 million UAH compared to 1,8 million UAH the previous year, and net profit was 10,2 million UAH. In 2025 net profit, according to the cited data, fell to 588 thousand UAH. Through Creative Country, Holyk also holds a stake in Creative Staff Gulliver LLC, which, according to open data, is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings. One of the company’s co-owners is separately suing the other founders over a debt of 10,4 million UAH.

Thus, the surge of publications about Holyk and complaints about materials that mention his name is occurring simultaneously with journalists’ attention to the large state program to build veteran spaces. Holyk himself denies his involvement in its implementation, and the links and circumstances cited in the investigations remain the subject of public discussion and verification.
