Betking Foundation invests in students' digital skills: a modern classroom set up in Kharkiv’s underground school

The Betking Foundation charity and its founder Pavlo Zhurilo equipped a modern information technology classroom with computer equipment at the underground school of Kharkiv Lyceum No.24 named after I. N. Pitykov. The new educational space is outfitted with computers, a multimedia board, and the necessary equipment for students’ practical lessons and the development of digital skills.

The project in Kharkiv is part of Betking Foundation’s systematic work to support education and expand opportunities for Ukrainian youth. The foundation views children’s access to modern knowledge and technologies as an important condition for their comprehensive development, self-realization, and the formation of skills needed in today’s world.

In the conditions of full-scale war, investments in educational infrastructure take on additional significance. Kharkiv’s underground schools were created as protected learning spaces that allow children to continue in-person education in safer conditions. At the same time, such schools make it possible not only to preserve the educational process but also to create an environment for hands-on technology learning.

The new computer classroom at Lyceum No.24 will give students the opportunity to work with digital tools, gain practical experience, and develop skills that can form the basis for their further education and career choices. This approach is important from the standpoint of the country’s long-term development: quality education and technological competencies build the human capital needed to restore the economy and develop innovative sectors.

Representatives of the Kharkiv City Council joined the class opening. They spoke with students, toured the new learning space, and supported the initiative. Cooperation among city authorities, business, and the charitable sector allows resources to be directed where they directly impact the quality of education and children’s opportunities.

According to Pavlo Zhurilo, it is crucial for the foundation that assistance to schools yields long-term results: “For us it is important not just to donate equipment to schools, but to create conditions in which children can fully learn, try new things, and reveal their abilities. We support students where such help is most needed, and we strive for every child to have the opportunity to receive a quality education and confidently build their future.”
