The General Staff confirmed the Defense Forces' strike on the "Novatek-Ust-Luga" complex in the Russian Federation

Units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine 1 September struck the production complex "Novatek-Ust-Luga" in Slobidka, Leningrad region, Russia. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out at the facility.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"1 September 2026, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the oil refining plant 'NOVATEK-Ust-Luga' in Slobidka, Leningrad region, RF. The strike on the target with a subsequent fire on the premises of the facility is confirmed," the statement reads.

The extent of the damage is being clarified.

The Novatek production complex in Ust-Luga is a fractionation and transshipment complex for stable gas condensate, located at the port of Ust-Luga on the Baltic Sea. The design capacity of the stable gas condensate processing complex is over 6 million tons per year.

The enterprise produces oil (light and heavy), kerosene, diesel fraction, and a component of marine fuel (fuel oil).

The complex is part of Novatek's production and logistics infrastructure at the port of Ust-Luga.

The enterprise is involved in supplying the needs of the Russian Armed Forces.

At night on 1 September, Russia reported more than 500 drones. Damage was recorded in the Ust-Luga port area. According to local authorities, more than 50 drones were allegedly destroyed over the region during the night.

At the same time, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed the strike on key elements of the oil processing unit and technological equipment at the Novatek-Ust-Luga enterprise.
