Olena Zelenska Appeared on the Cover of Lithuanian Elle

First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska has become the main feature of Elle Lithuania's September issue. In the interview, she spoke about life in Ukraine during the full-scale war, educating children, and the importance of culture under constant danger. This is reported by Glavkom with reference to Elle Lithuania.

Zelenska recalled the first weeks of the full-scale Russian invasion, when Ukrainian families faced the question of whether children should continue their schooling amid the war. According to her, the answer was unequivocal — the educational process must continue.

Despite air raids and other challenges of wartime, Ukrainian students continue to study, take exams, complete academic years, and celebrate graduation.

The First Lady emphasized that the childhood of the current generation of Ukrainians significantly differs from life for children before 2022 year. At the same time, according to her, the war should not deprive them of the opportunity to receive an education, communicate with peers, and remain children.

The interview with Zelenska gave special attention to Ukraine's cultural life. Theaters, concert venues, and book fairs continue to attract visitors even under regular Russian attacks and air raids.

Ukrainians can spend time in shelters due to the danger of shelling, and then return to normal life — attend performances, concerts, festivals, and other cultural events. “It is a way to lift spirits and preserve a sense of normalcy,” the First Lady said.

According to Zelenska, culture during the full-scale war has effectively become a kind of therapy for Ukrainians and one of the ways to sustain a familiar pace of life.

The Elle Lithuania editorial team noted that the new issue tells the story of a country that, even in difficult conditions, continues to create, develop, and defend the right to remain itself.

Recall that Olena Zelenska has previously been the subject of well-known international publications. The First Lady of Ukraine posed for American Vogue together with President Volodymyr Zelensky. The photographer was Annie Leibovitz, and the stylist was Yulia Pelipas, fashion editor of Ukrainian Vogue.

Zelenska was also featured on the cover of Britain's The Guardian. In the interview, she spoke about life for Ukrainian families during the war, the first day of the full-scale invasion, Volodymyr Zelensky, and threats to the presidential family.
