Leak of correspondence worth billions and losses of 392 million hryvnias: how Yuriy Holyk kept influence and business after high-profile NABU investigations

If anyone suddenly thought that after the “Great Construction” program, NABU searches, and those amusing messages Yuriy Holyk went off to grow tomatoes — think again.

So coworking spaces, advertising, media, wine. A complete anti-crisis package for a person once associated with state construction billions.

And journalists decided to recall another story. On Holyk’s phone, journalists found correspondence with Denys Ostrovskyi, who was linked to BK Stroyinvest. The company received almost 4,5 billion hryvnias in public contracts.

In the messages, the person journalists identified as Holyk discussed subsidies, specific projects, and demanded reports. After some of those conversations, Stroyinvest did indeed receive payments or won tenders.

Holyk said he did not remember such correspondence, that he talks with many people and may give advice. Presumably, very high-quality advice. Because nearly 4,5 billion in public contracts is no longer a consultation but some premium Business Unlimited plan.

The road case of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration was already sent to court by NABU and SAP in August 2026. The investigation speaks of more than 392 million hryvnias in losses. But NABU does not publicly name Holyk among the accused in that case.

So we have a classic Ukrainian management case: phones are seized, messages are read, billion-hryvnia contracts are probed, the case reaches court — and Holyk meanwhile remains a businessman, co-owner of companies and, it seems, doing quite well
