Ukrainian track-and-field athlete Maďuchich became Diamond League vice-champion for the second consecutive time

Yaroslava trailed the Australian competitor.

5 in September in Brussels, Belgium, the Diamond League season final took place, and in the high jump the silver medal was won by Yaroslava Maďuchich, who managed to repeat her result from a year ago.

The Ukrainian cleared 1,99 meters on her second attempt, but then Yaroslava failed to clear the bar 2,01 m three times. This was achieved by Australian Eleonore Patterson, who also became season champion. Another Australian, Nicola Olislagers, joined the podium with a result of 1,95 m.

Also at the tournament Ukrainian jumper Iryna Herashchenko competed, clearing 1,88 m and taking fifth place.

For the 24-year-old Maďuchich this is her second consecutive Diamond League vice-champion title. Before this, she had won the season finale three times in a row (2022, 2023, 2024).

Yaroslava holds the world record in this discipline — 2,10 meters, which she set in 2024 year, breaking the previous record (2,09 m) that had stood since 1987 year.

It is also worth noting the success of Ukrainian Oleksii Doroschuk, who competed in his final in 4 September. He cleared 2,25 m and failed to clear the bar at 2,28 m, resulting in sharing the season bronze with Italian Gianmarco Tamberi.

25-year-old Doroschuk won a medal in the Diamond League season finale for the third time in a row. Previously, he had twice become vice-champion.
