Zelensky gave Trump’s envoys T‑shirts reading "Kyiv regime" (photo)

UNIAN, screenshot from vidDuring a meeting in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky presented Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner with T‑shirts bearing the inscription "Kyiv regime." This was reported by a BBC journalist.

According to her, before giving the gifts to the Americans, the head of state first showed the same item on the clothing of one of the members of the Ukrainian negotiating team.

The president’s spokesman Serhiy Nykiforov clarified that at the time of the presentation the T‑shirt with that inscription was being worn by the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia.

It is currently unknown how Witkoff and Kushner themselves commented on receiving such a gift.

Visit of the special envoys — what is known

Recall that today Witkoff and Kushner arrived in Kyiv by train — this is their first visit to Ukraine. They were met by Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Rustem Umerov, and David Arakhamia.

The first round of talks has already concluded. During the meeting Kushner said that Trump’s goal is not just to stop the war, but to lay the groundwork for a lasting peace that would make its recurrence impossible. Witkoff, for his part, called the conversation "very substantive" and assured that the American side is ready to work "as long as it takes." A second round of negotiations is to follow — this time involving national security advisers from the E3 countries: the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.

The visit was preceded by Trump’s special envoys’ trip to Moscow, where they met with Putin about ending the war.
