The Pope Reacted to Vitkoff and Kushner's Visit to Kyiv

Pope Leo XIV hopes for the quickest possible peace in Ukraine. This is stated in his post on the social network X.

The pontiff published a new post after special envoys Steve Vitkoff and Jared Kushner visited Kyiv and Moscow.

He urged an end to hostilities and expressed the hope that these visits will resume negotiations about a process that will yield concrete results:

"My heart consoles the suffering of the Ukrainian people, who have lived for years in pain and fear. I again call to put an end to violence, to halt destruction, and to open our hearts to dialogue and peace! I hope that the efforts made in recent days to restart negotiations will bring concrete results and create conditions for diplomacy."

Earlier, UNIAN reported that special envoy Steve Vitkoff, at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, expressed the view that without communication with Russia there is very little chance for a peaceful settlement. Vitkoff added that, in his opinion, significant progress was achieved in Moscow. In particular, new ideas were heard. The Trump special envoy noted that President Zelensky spoke about a trilateral meeting and expressed hope that an appropriate announcement would be made soon.

We also wrote that Jared Kushner, son-in-law of the U.S. president, believes that until the terms of a peace agreement are agreed and the document itself is concluded, it is too early to talk about when peace will come. He noted that this could happen quickly or slowly. Kushner assured that behind the scenes a lot of work is being done to try to create the right conditions for this. He added that this was exactly what was discussed today during talks with national security advisers from the E3 countries – the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
