Among the potential contenders for the position of Prosecutor General is the head of the Verkhovna Rada's Law Enforcement Committee, Serhiy Ionushas.

This was stated by the People's Servant deputy Maryana Bezuhla.

"Considering potential candidates for the Prosecutor General, Ionushas, the head of the Verkhovna Rada's Law Enforcement Committee, is, of course, closer to Tavrov than Khomenko. He led the committee after Monastyrskyi and has always diligently carried out the instructions of the OP. Although it should also be understood that these were not only directives from the deputy head of the Office of the President, but, first and foremost, the President's orders. He also carried out that infamous bill on NABU and SAP last year," she noted.

At the same time, she noted that Ionushas supported the newly created special commission on military justice and joined it, although over the years the committee did not complete the bills.

"In spite of the iniquities of the Verkhovna Rada's Law Enforcement Committee, he is many times more active and even more effective than the impotent Defense Committee, and this, in particular, is the merit of Ionushas and his colleagues. It also demonstrates how dire the state of the Defense Committee in parliament is amid the war. I remind you: their only loud project this summer is a proposal to strengthen state protection for the authorities. And this is no joke."
