Mosaic Panel "Bird" by Alla Horska in Cherkasy Region Recognized as a Monument of National Significance

The mosaic panel "Ptakha" in the village of Helmiaziv in Cherkasy region, created by artists Alla Horska and Viktor Zaretsky, has received the status of a national-value cultural heritage landmark. According to a Cabinet of Ministers decision, the work was entered into the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine. This is reported on the site of the Ministry of Culture.

- Ukrainian cultural heritage is what forms our memory and identity. Granting the piece "Ptasa" the status of a national-value landmark is a concrete step toward preserving Alla Horska and Viktor Zaretsky’s unique work. The object has been entered into the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine and will be assigned a protective number, said Vice Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy of Ukraine and Minister of Culture Tetiana Bezhennia.

The new status provides for strengthened state protection of the panel and is intended to contribute to its proper preservation.

Mosaic panel "Ptakha"

The mosaic panel was created by Ukrainian artists Alla Horska and Viktor Zaretsky. The work belongs to the notable examples of Ukraine’s monumental art of the second half of the 20th century and is associated with the artistic heritage of the Sixties generation.

First officially recorded as of July 2025. The Cherkasy Regional Military Administration then included the mosaic in the list of newly discovered regional cultural heritage objects.

In October 2025, a specialized expert commission under the Ministry of Culture reviewed the issue of protective status for the work and recommended recognizing this panel as a national-value cultural heritage landmark.

In July 2025, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk presented at Trafalgar Square in London a reproduced mosaic by Alla Horska "Boriviter".

In June 2025, a copy of Alla Horska’s Mariupol mosaic was opened in the center of Kyiv.
