Yaroslava Mahuchikh Became the First Ever Absolute Winner in the High Jump

The Ukrainian woman won the height at 1.99 m.

The Ukrainian women's team leader in high jump, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, became the winner of the Absolute World Championship in track and field in the high jump event. The Ukrainian athlete won at a height of 1.99 m.

In addition to Yaroslava Mahuchikh, two other Ukrainians participated: Yulia Levchenko and Iryna Gerashchenko.

The high jump competition at the Absolute World Championship began at a height of 1.86 m. Levchenko cleared the bar on her first attempt, and Gerashchenko on her second. Yaroslava Mahuchikh passed at the opening height.

At a height of 1.91 m, all three athletes appeared in the sector. Mahuchikh cleared on her first attempt, and Iryna Gerashchenko managed it on her second jump. Yulia Levchenko ended her competition after three misses.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh cleared the height of 1.95 m on her first attempt.

Only two athletes advanced to the next height — Mahuchikh and Olislagers. The Ukrainian cleared the bar on her second attempt, while the Australian could not clear it.

In August, the Ukrainian national team leader in track and field, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, won the gold medal at the European Championships in high jump in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
