The "Carthage" Case: Prosecutor Kropyva and His "Muse" Ivakhnenko Remain in Pretrial Detention for Failure to Pay 140 Million Hryvnia Bail

The defendants in the Carthage case regarding the alleged “covering” of call centers, Serhiy Kropiva and Yelyzaveta Ivakhnenko, have not yet come out from under guard. The court-assigned bail for them has not yet been paid.

This was reported by the press service of the High Anticorruption Court in a comment to MEZH.

Employee of the Office of the Prosecutor General Serhiy Kropiva, referred to in case materials as the “Chancellor,” and Yelyzaveta Ivakhnenko, known as the “Muse,” continue to remain in pre-trial detention.

The VATS also noted that there is no information about partial bail payment.

“Regarding partial (payment), I cannot provide such information. We have a category: either paid or not paid,” the court explained.

6 In September, the VATS took Kropiva into custody with an alternative bail of 120 million UAH. Ivakhnenko was also left in detention until 2 November, with the possibility of a bail payment of 20 million UAH.

According to the investigation, Ivakhnenko was aware of the illegal origins of the funds and participated in the legalization of 21,6 million UAH. For these funds, as stated in the case materials, they purchased a non-residential premises of 153 square meters and an apartment in Odesa of 64,5 square meters.

Additionally, Ivakhnenko’s mother opened a private entrepreneur entity through which, according to the investigation, money was laundered. The investigation also claims that the “Muse” helped Kropiva purchase a Mercedes.
