The government calculated losses from Russian attacks on businesses

The government plans to allocate $1 billion for war risk insurance.

The state budget has fallen short by about 70 billion hryvnias in tax revenues due to Russian shelling over the past two weeks. This amount could rise. This was stated by Prime Minister Serhiy Korenko.

“Two weeks ago we were tallying results — about 70 billion hryvnias may not be received by the state budget in tax revenues due to shelling. This is as of two weeks ago, but every day the strikes continue,” said Korenko.

He added that despite the losses, business continues to recover and operate. The prime minister thanked Ukrainians who go to work every morning, generate taxes, the economy, and GDP.

“Boundless sincere gratitude to everyone who has held on for the fifth year of the war,” he summed up.

Also, according to him, the government is taking a number of support measures.

“We conducted a full audit of the premises of the State Property Fund, state enterprises, and ministries — we propose that businesses use these warehouse and production facilities,” said Korenko.

In addition, 1 billion dollars will be provided in the budget for war risk insurance. The goal is to form a reserve that would cover 40–50% of the losses from attacks.

It was also reported that the government plans to raise VAT by 1% so that these funds can be directed to insure businesses.
