The leader of the DNR spoke about early voting in the occupied Donetsk region

Early voting for the Russian Federation State Duma elections is ongoing in the occupied areas of Donetsk region. According to the DNR leader Denis Pushilin, due to安全csecurity concerns, mobile voting was organized there.

“With safety in mind, an outbound voting process has been organized in the DNR. Every day, mobile brigades 699 go to work. Each group is equipped with everything necessary and operates under the supervision of observers,” the DNR leader said on a Russian TV channel.

Early voting in the occupied territory of Donetsk region began on 9 and will run until 17. From 18 to 20 September, on the main voting days, polling stations are to switch to stationary operation.

The organizers claim that engaging citizens in monitoring elections on territories controlled by the RF, including in the DNR, is meant to ensure transparency of the process.

At the same time, observers are recruited and trained by organizations loyal to the occupation authorities, using uniform methodologies. Independent human rights institutions and opposition groups are not involved in this process.

In the occupied territories of Ukraine, voting occurs not only at polling stations. Ballots can also be filled out in residents’ apartments, near entrances, and in other locations not suitable for this purpose.

The local occupation authorities also asked the Central Election Commission of Russia to minimize video surveillance of the voting process.
