They've Brought This On Themselves: One of Ukraine's Largest Construction Companies Stops Work

Construction company Autostrada stops works, because the Cabinet of Ministers has halted funding for all capital expenditures. This was reported by the founder and head of the company, Maksym Shkil.

"We’ve overdone it. Today the state, in one day, without warnings, without any discussion and dialogue, halted funding for all capital expenditures," he wrote on Facebook.

Maksym Shkil reported that as a result, Autostrada is forced to halt works on all facilities.

"Salaries of entire sectors of the economy, interest on loans, settlements with suppliers — this is certainly the main trouble, not for deputies and not for the Ministry of Finance; they have their own business plan, and we’re simply being told to our face to take note of it," said the company owner.

"Autostrada" is one of the largest construction companies in Ukraine that implements road infrastructure projects. In particular, it builds roads and new metro stations in Kyiv.

BAGNET recalls that earlier, due to problems with obtaining international funding, the Ministry of Finance postponed capital expenditures planned for September-November of this year. This was announced by the head of the Budget Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Roksolana Putinetsa.

In particular, since September, at the end of the year, 39 billion UAH of capital expenditures has been moved.
