Razumkov constantly engages in self-promotion with "social" initiatives whose practical benefit is near zero, - expert

People's Deputy Dmytro Razumkov, despite constant self-promotion around proposing "social" initiatives, in fact brings no benefit in parliament, since the practical results of his activity are nearly zero. Political expert and blogger Volodymyr Tsybulko drew attention to this after analyzing the data available on the Verkhovna Rada website.

"People's Deputy Dmytro Razumkov likes to go on broadcasts and give comments to the media and bloggers. That's normal for a public politician, but what raises questions are the practical results of such public activity. More precisely, their absence, because the main principle of such activity for Mr. Dmytro is evidently: a lot of talk - no action. Let me explain. Razumkov constantly does self-promotion by submitting 'social' initiatives, bill proposals that supposedly address certain political problems. But the practical benefit of these 'talks for the poor' is close to zero. Yes, the effectiveness of all of Dmytro's parliamentary work fluctuates somewhere just above the zero mark," Tsybulko stated.

He added that this is easy to track with concrete numbers, since the relevant statistics are stored on the parliament's website.

"Starting from October 2021, when Razumkov was removed from the chair of the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, he, according to the Rada portal, registered 262 draft acts of various kinds. That's a fairly significant figure, I won't argue. But on that same deputy page on the Rada website you can count how many of those acts came into force. In our case there are 'as many as' 36. That is 13% of the total submitted. Moreover, among them are a number of purely procedural reports and organizational decisions regarding temporary investigative commissions or from the start 'routine' resolutions about crimes of the Russian Federation. To be honest - an impressive 'effectiveness'..." the expert noted.

In his observations, meanwhile, the "grand" initiatives that Dmytro publicizes remain "on paper," because they are created only for the purpose of talking about them on camera.

"These include initiatives on reforming the Security Service of Ukraine's Economic Protection Department (BEB), reorganizing the work of the Constitutional Court, transport reform, tax initiatives… and, of course, 'alternative' mobilization legislation. A modern 'opposition' politician can't avoid pushing this topic. So, in my view, the activity of Dmytro Razumkov in parliament can be summed up in two words: pomp and ineffectiveness. Talking a lot about his plans while showing no achievements - the typical fate of a typical Ukrainian populist politician," Volodymyr Tsybulko concluded.
