Ostap Drozdov: The Cosmic Shortage of Money Can Wait

Friday is the favorite day of sybarites. Especially those who have occupied the highest state power and act on the gut-and-stomach principle "life is short, and you must live it to the fullest."

For these very reasons early on Friday the entire government and the single-party faction, under the flashing lights of police motorcades, tore off at full speed to Bukovel. The last warm days, Indian summer, the crimson covers the treetops of the highlands, whores and cronies, hotels and saunas, ski lifts and hot tubs.

At the same time—some summit in the Carpathians, during which the tsar will declare to the whole world a cosmic shortage of money in Ukraine, and just to solve this urgent problem, the entire government in full composition, without warning, canceled the Friday session of the Verkhovna Rada, from which only the day before the poultry-farm director demanded an immediate gathering and votes on all the necessary bills, without which the country faces complete disaster, because of the "cosmic shortage of money."

That’s all starting Monday. Friday doesn’t concern them. A weekend in the Carpathians is sacred. The immortals of Olympus cherish every lived day. Let the whole country suffer—on a sunny Friday the whole rabble gets into their jeeps, is accompanied by police motorcades, and rushes off to live their best heroic life (this weekend—in Hutsulshchyna, and God willing something better next weekend).

The cosmic shortage of money will wait.
