A Hungarian Was Poured with Wine: What Is Known About the Incident

Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar was drenched with wine during the Harvest Festival in the town of Séxárd. The incident occurred in the evening of 19 September, when the prime minister was speaking with festival visitors.

Magyar drenched with wine at the festival

Magyar was returning to Budapest after a trip to Pécs and, at the invitation of local residents, attended the Séxárd Harvest Festival. While talking with people near one of the trade pavilions, a bystander splashed liquid toward the prime minister, after which security escorted him away.

According to sources, the liquid in the glass could have been wine. Magyar himself, after the incident, continued talking with attendees.

It is currently known that the man had previously been a supporter of Viktor Orbán and was reportedly intoxicated.

Magyar reacted to the situation with humor, noting that his biggest regret was the spoiled drink.
