Passed away: in Ternopil they will say goodbye to defender Volodymyr Hykavyi

18 September during treatment at the Main Military Clinical Hospital in Kyiv, serviceman Volodymyr Hykavyi died. The defender fought for life until the end, but his heart could not withstand.

This was announced by the mayor of Ternopil, Serhiy Nadol, in his Telegram channel.

What is known about the defender's death?

Volodymyr Pavlovych Hykavyi underwent extended treatment at the capital's medical facility after completing combat missions. Medical workers and the fighter fought for life to the end, but the defender's heart could not bear the load.

Neighbors remember the warrior as a model of courage and resilience, whose feat will forever remain in the memory of the community. Another star has appeared in the sky, shining as an example of bravery and self-sacrifice.

Whom did Ukraine lose in the war?

32-year-old serviceman from the Polohivska community of Zaporizhzhia Oblast died in battle for Ukraine 14 September 2026 of the year. The farewell to the defender took place 19 September.

Defender from Bila Tserkva, Yan Zalevskyi, died 13 September while performing a combat mission near Kizomys in Kherson region. The warrior served as a machine-gunner in a mechanized battalion and remained faithful to the military oath until the end.

A serviceman from Ternopil region, Ruslan Zolotar, died 11 September 2026 of the year while carrying out a combat mission on the Dnipro direction. Defender 12 years dedicated to defending Ukraine, served in the 59-th Separate Mechanized Brigade, and participated in the ATO and battles after the start of the full-scale invasion. He left behind a wife and children.
