Russian forces launched 172 drones at Ukraine, there are strikes at 14 locations – Center for Investigative Journalism

Russian forces on the night of 21 September launched 172 drones of various types at Ukraine. Air defense neutralized 148 targets. Impacts from the enemy’s airborne attack means were recorded at 14 locations.

This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As noted, on the night of 21 September (from 18:00 20 September) the enemy attacked with 172 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (64 of them – rocket-propelled), Gerbera, imitation drones of the “Parodiya” type, as well as “Banderol”/“Dan-T” from directions: Belgorod, Shatalovo, Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo – Russian Federation; temporarily occupied Donetsk, Hvardiyske – temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The aerial attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defense shot down/suppressed 147 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, other drone types and one “Banderol”/“Dan-T”.

Impacts from the enemy’s airborne attack means were recorded at 14 locations, and debris from shot-down (fragments) fell at 4 locations.

The attack is ongoing; enemy UAVs are in the airspace.
