The man faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

In Dnipro, a electrician was detained, suspected of having taken jobs at several factories to target them for Russian strikes.

“The Main Directorate of Internal Security of the SBU has exposed another agent of the Russian military intelligence (the so-called GRU) in Dnipro. It turned out to be a recruited enemy electrician who helped Russia prepare air strikes against local facilities,” the SBU wrote in its press release.

Recently, the man switched several jobs at regional plants, trying to find a company that works for Ukraine's defense-industrial complex.

As soon as the agent got employed at a company actually connected to the defense sector, the SBU detained him.

According to the case materials, being aware of the situation from the inside, the agent drew up cartographic schemes of local plants for the Russians, marking buildings with especially valuable equipment, production shops, and storage warehouses. He also reported to the enemy on the characteristics of finished products and the schedules of enterprise operations.

It was also established that, in addition to spying on the plants, the suspect attempted to identify and adjust Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian Army and Security Service bases. SBU employees arrested the man at his place of residence.

His smartphone, which he used to gather intelligence and maintain contacts with a “liaison” of the Russian GRU, was seized. The liaison turned out to be an employee of the occupation “MGB LPR,” who works for the Russian military intelligence.

The SBU investigators informed the detainee of the charge under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed under martial law).

The man is in custody without the right to post bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
