"You’re Next": Intelligence warns Stubb of Russian threat in Russian

President of Finland Alexander Stubb said that intelligence from some countries warned him that his country could become the next victim of Russian aggression. However, he asserts that threats from Moscow should be met with cold-headedness.

Stubb pointed to an "overreaction" by some intelligence services who say that "you’re next" regarding the Russian invasion. "We don’t see evidence of it," he said. The politician says Europe must be vigilant, but not disheartened. "But, you know, we have the longest border in NATO with Russia, that’s half of the border. According to our intelligence, we see that there is activity now, but there is no immediate military threat," the president of Finland added. The politician also noted that a full-scale military escalation does not align with Russia’s interests, nor with its capabilities. "So they will continue to intimidate, and we simply need to be, as I’ve said, calm, composed, and collected in this situation," Stubb concluded.

Provocations and threats from the Russian Federation As is known, Moscow has recently been more often engaging in provocations of NATO countries, especially drone incursions into the territory of foreign states. Despite Helsinki’s measured response, Stubb urged Finnish citizens to be prepared for possible provocations at home. It is known that Finland is still preparing for the possible expulsion of the foe—capturing ships in the Baltic Sea due to the high threat from Russia.
