The Orthodox priest of the Russian Orthodox Church found a ridiculous explanation for the reduced drone attacks on Sevastopol

The rector of the Holy Vladimir Khersones Monastery of the Russian Orthodox Church, former press secretary of the Kherson diocese Silaun (Pasenko), stated that the intensity of daytime drone incursions on Sevastopol allegedly decreased after the relics of Prince Dmitry Donskoy arrived at the monastery. This is reported by «Glavkom» citing the propaganda outlet «RIA».

“Indeed a strange thing: in recent days there have been fewer [attacks]. And this is a fact. We do not seek to connect miracles with the reality around us, and we treat this cautiously first and foremost. However, we truly feel that there is Dmitry Donskoy’s intercession,” said Silaun.

The chest with the relics of Prince Dmitry Donskoy arrived at the Holy Vladimir Cathedral in Khersones in the evening 17 September 2026 of the year. Access was opened 18 and 19 of September, after which the coffin was taken out of Sevastopol.

What is known about Donskoy

Dmitry Donskoy’s history includes an episode that poorly fits into modern Russian mythology. In 1382 year, only two years after the Battle of Kulikovo, the Golden Horde's Khan Tokhtamysh moved toward Moscow. His aim was to restore dependence of the Muscovite lands and collect tribute for the Horde.

Dmitry Donskoy left Moscow even before the arrival of the Khan’s army. Because of his absence, the defense of the city was essentially taken over by the boyars and townspeople. After several days of defense the Khan managed to capture the city. Moscow was looted and burned, and a significant portion of its population perished.

Donskoy returned to the already ravaged capital after the departure of the Horde’s army. After Tokhtamysh’s campaign, Moscow again found itself in vassal relations with the Horde. In 1383 year Dmitry sent to the Khan his son Vasil, and he himself agreed to pay tribute to Tokhtamysh for previous years. At the same time the Khan kept the grande princely title for the Moscow dynasty.

The prince, whom the current Russian Orthodox Church presents as an example of military service, history also knows as a ruler who left Moscow before the invasion of Tokhtamysh, while the city was subsequently captured and burned.

By the way, Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church sent part of the relics of the Moscow prince Dmitry Donskoy to Russian troops at the front. The coffin with the relics was met by servicemen of the “Center” group.

Incidentally, in August the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Zybiga reacted to reports about the use of Dmitry Donskoy’s remains to support Russian troops. The diplomat ironically advised Vladimir Putin to “swap this skeleton with that one.”
