"I Have Stocks of Rice and Jam": Poland's Foreign Minister Describes How He's Preparing for a Possible Crisis

The head of Poland's foreign ministry, Radosław Sikorski, noted that the number of Russian hybrid attacks has noticeably increased recently and urged fellow citizens to be prepared for potential crisis situations. In a conversation with journalists, the diplomat also shared what supplies he has already stocked at home, reported wprost.pl.

"I have rice stocked, there is a hand pump at home, and I have also prepared jam from fruits from my own orchard. I know safety instructions and have checked where the nearest shelter is located near my home. Everyone should know how to apply a bandage, because these skills will come in handy even in peacetime," he emphasized.

At the same time, Sikorski advised fellow citizens not to ignore state security advice. He emphasized that when authorities openly warn about turbulent times and the need to prepare, these guidelines should be taken into account.

Commenting on the likelihood of a direct armed clash between NATO and the Kremlin, the foreign minister noted that this scenario depends entirely on Vladimir Putin.

"NATO is a strictly defensive alliance, and we do not wish for any real armed conflict. We certainly will not start it, but we must be ready to deter if Putin does what he previously did with Georgia, and now with Ukraine," the diplomat said.

Threat to Europe

Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned that the Russian Federation plans to strike countries that partner with Ukraine with drones and missiles. According to him, Moscow may use a similar tactic to destabilize the situation in neighboring states. This statement came amid increased incidents near the Polish border and growing concern among NATO members.

In turn, the Norwegian prime minister urged to take Poland's warnings "very seriously." The Norwegian side stressed that the danger from Moscow is real and concerns not only Poland but also other countries in the region.
