“I Can Barely Make Ends Meet”: Iryna Mudra, with a Half-Million Income, Consulted Maksym Mykytas on How to Legalize Money and “Show” Official Earnings

«I’m like a homeless woman, 560 thousands of UAH per year. This is a disaster, I’ve come to this».

Another fragment of the dialogues of former deputy head Moodra and developer Mykitas, published by journalist Volodymyr Boyko and, as he reports, obtained from the NABU case.

In it, Mykitas and Moodra again discuss property issues and the falsification of her declaration.

In particular, Moodra asks the developer «Zhytlokapital» to buy back from her the property rights to the unfinished residential complex Crystal House, so that she can legalized funds. Officially she earns only 50 thousand UAH per month, and that’s “a disaster.” She complains that she managed to declare only 4 thousand dollars in savings over a year, and says that with such an official salary of a half a million hryvnias a year she feels like a “homeless person.”

Moodra asks: «Who would believe that I live on 50 thousand UAH per month?» Meanwhile, «there is some bastard who earns only 200 millions per month».

Mykitas replies that the idea of selling is good, and proposes to artificially overstate the amount. Moodra notes that she invested more than 2 million hryvnias into two apartments.

Mykitas says: «Damn, I’ve lived with you for a year and I didn’t even hint that you should think about your income.» He calls Moodra a «cat» and repeatedly apologizes for not thinking about legitimizing her income. He confesses that he «thought more about real income» and promises to deal with this issue.

Mykitas proposes going to Budanov and proposing to appoint Moodra to the supervisory board of Naftogaz. Moodra replies that by law this is impossible. Then they decide that «resigning is the best» and mention the sanctions envoy Vlasjuk, who «kind of teaches» at the Kyiv School of Economics. Mykitas notes that the institution «can pay as much salary as they want». Moodra wonders about going to Milovanov (president of the KSE) to ask for help, and adds that then-prime minister Sviridenko «also gets paid there».

Mykitas offers to declare a gift from him in 350 thousand dollars and indicate that Moodra lives on her husband’s income. He asks who her husband is. Moodra says she does not want to show her husband because they live in different places, otherwise they would have to indicate that they live together. Mykitas suggests taking a joint vacation, taking a joint photo — «maybe everything will work out for you.» Moodra replies that this is «bullshit».
