In the Lviv region, an entrepreneur was fined for attempting to import a BMW X5 under the guise of humanitarian aid

The Mstyskyi District Court of Lviv Oblast found the entrepreneur guilty of attempting to import a BMW X5 into Ukraine under the guise of humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The court's verdict was issued 9 on September 2026 of the year.

This is reported by the Telegram channel "Suedom po skhemakh".

According to the case materials, in the summer of 2024, an unidentified person asked the entrepreneur Yurii Dobryanskyi to purchase and deliver a right-hand-drive BMW X5 from 2007 year of manufacture to Ukraine. The car was planned to be dismantled for parts.

To avoid paying customs duties and to obtain additional profit, the entrepreneur decided to register the car as humanitarian aid. The car was purchased abroad and delivered to the Polish town of Przemyśl.

Subsequently, the carrier, who, according to the case materials, did not know about the illegal intent, was handed an electronic declaration. It stated that the car was intended for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was to be transferred to the charitable organization “Demon” Charity Fund.

4 October 2024 of the year, the BMW X5 was imported into Ukraine through the Schohyn-Somedika border crossing, using false information.

In March 2026, a settlement was reached between the Lviv regional prosecutor's office and the defendant, recognizing guilt. The court took into account his remorse and assistance in uncovering the offense.

The entrepreneur was found guilty under part 1 of article 222 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He was fined 17 thousand hryvnias and was banned from engaging in activities related to the movement of goods, including humanitarian aid, across the Ukrainian customs border for two years.

Also, he was additionally ordered to pay 5348,40 hryvnias in procedural costs for the court examination.
