Olena Zelenska Met the First Lady of the United Kingdom in New York

Olena Zelenska met the new First Lady of the United Kingdom for the first time. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81-th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is taking place in New York. Olena Zelenska said that she had not personally known Marie-Françoise van Hill before.

- We had not met personally yet, but she has already sent me a very warm letter when her husband visited Ukraine this summer, — Olena Zelenska shared on Facebook.

The wife of the president of Ukraine noted that Marie-Françoise van Hill also worked with organizations in the health care field, so it was important for Olena Zelenska to hear about her experience.

- After all, the knowledge and skills of many of my colleagues, first ladies and gentlemen, have already helped humanitarian projects in Ukraine. And I am sure they will help again, — the first lady explained.

The future prime minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham, and Marie-Françoise van Hill have been married 25 years. In 1989, they met during their studies at the University of Cambridge. The couple has three children — a son and two daughters.

Olena Zelenska and Marie-Françoise van Hill arrived in New York together with their husbands, who are participating in the 81-th session of the UN General Assembly.

In August, the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham, during his first visit to Kyiv, rode the metro and played the guitar.
