Ultimatum from a Pro‑Russian Oligarch: How MP Arsen Pushkarenko and Estonian Ties Became Targets of a Media Attack

The main reason for the information campaign was principled opposition to a pro‑Russian Estonian oligarch who tried to intimidate Ukrainian lawmakers with ultimatums.

Million‑dollar schemes under cover and the Russian trace

The conflict escalated after members of the group led by its co‑chair Arseniy Pushkarenko began actively exposing the close ties of Estonian businessman Oleg Osinovsky to the aggressor country. According to the official statement:

Companies controlled by Osinovsky (in particular Vero Logistics, AS SKINEST FINANTS, and OSAUHING DELANTINA) since the start of the full‑scale invasion conducted trade operations transporting iron ore worth up to 777 million euros.

According to Russian customs declarations, the raw material came from deposits of the sanctioned group Metalloinvest, whose largest shareholder is Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov.

The logistics companies effectively helped to circumvent Western sanctions by transporting cargoes through Estonia and Latvia worth tens of millions of euros.

Against this background, on 18 June 2026 year the people's deputies appealed to the National Security and Defense Council with a demand to impose personal sanctions against Oleg Osinovsky and structures associated with him.

The ultimatum and threats to the people's deputies

After the official appeal by Ukrainian parliamentarians, the pressure on them began to rise sharply. As stated in the declaration, on 4 September 2026 year a clear ultimatum was delivered through intermediaries and the oligarch's business partners in Ukraine: deputies had to stop any investigations into Osinovsky’s Russian assets and drop the sanctions issue. If they refused, the organizers threatened to launch a powerful, massive media attack to discredit them in Ukraine and Estonia.

The deputies responded with categorical refusal. Immediately after that, some European and Ukrainian media began publishing falsified materials targeting Arseniy Pushkarenko.
