More than 55 thousand lives saved: Ruslan Stefanchuk and Hope Foundation President Vita Prysyazhniuk visited Mechnikov Hospital

Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, visited the Dnipro Regional Clinical Mechnikov Hospital.

The hospital was also visited by the team of the Hope youth initiative charitable foundation led by President Vita Prysyazhniuk. During the years of war, the hospital’s medical staff under the leadership of Hero of Ukraine Serhii Ryzhenko have saved more than 55 thousand lives, performed thousands of complex surgeries, and transfused tons of blood. The intensive care units operate without pause.

“There is no division between day and night here: every day medical staff perform up to a hundred surgeries, receive the most severely injured patients, and fight for every life. During the years of war the hospital has become one of the key medical centers where we save our defenders,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

He thanked Serhii Ryzhenko and the entire medical team for their professionalism, humanity, and daily work, as well as the volunteers who support the hospital and its patients.

“Our mission is to defeat death. The most severely wounded are brought to us, and 95% of the fighters who have arrived here during the war have been saved,” said the hospital’s general director Serhii Ryzhenko.

The Hope Foundation donated an Easy Pulse device for cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the hospital, and electric scooters for veterans with amputations as part of the “Scooters for Heroes” program. The foundation’s ambassador, composer and pianist Yevhen Khmara, held a piano therapy session for patients and medical staff.

The Hope Foundation and its supervisory board chair, First Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Health, Medical Care and Medical Insurance Valerii Dubil have supported Mechnikov Hospital since the first days of the full-scale invasion. During this time the medical facility has received functional operating tables, Easy Pulse cardiopulmonary resuscitation devices, mechanical ventilators, surgical electrosystems, and significant volumes of medical shipments — from consumables to equipment for stabilizing and rehabilitating the wounded.

“For us, supporting Mechnikov Hospital is one of our key priorities. The most severely wounded are saved here every day, and the availability of modern equipment directly affects whether a life can be saved,” said Valerii Dubil.
