In the Bucha district a man set a car on fire after a conflict: he faces up to 10 years

In the village of Myla in Bucha district, a man, according to police, set fire to a parked Haval vehicle after a conflict with its owner. The car was completely destroyed by the fire, and the suspect has been notified of suspicion.

KV learned about this from a statement by the press service of the Kyiv Region Police.

“The police received a report that a parked Haval car was on fire on one of the streets in the village of Myla. Law enforcement officers preliminarily established that hostile relations arose between the victim and a man he knew personally due to a conflict that took place the day before. Seeing the car the victim used, the suspect decided to set it on fire,” the Kyiv Region Police said.

The press service noted that the perpetrator poured fuel he had purchased in advance over the front part of the car and ignited the vehicle with a lighter. As a result of the fire, the car was completely destroyed.

As a result of investigative and search measures, operatives from the Bucha District Police Department of Kyiv region identified the person involved in the crime. The suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility.

Investigators, under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense in the Central Region, notified the perpetrator of suspicion of deliberately destroying another's property by arson (part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, KV reported that in Kyiv a man set fire to a military vehicle on the instructions of a handler from the Russian Federation. For carrying out the “assignment,” the arsonist was promised a cash reward of 1 000 dollars. Capital police officers, together with the SBU, detained the suspect. He has now been notified of suspicion and faces up to 10 years in prison.
