Over 55 thousand lives saved: Ruslan Stefanishynok and Vita Prysyazhnyuk, president of the Hope Foundation, visited the Mechnikov Hospital

The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after Mechnikov was visited by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanyshuk.

The Hope Foundation youth initiative team, led by president Vita Prysyazhnyuk, also visited the hospital. Over the years of the war, under the leadership of Hero of Ukraine Serhiy Ryzhenko, the hospital’s doctors have saved more than 55 thousand lives, performed thousands of complex operations, and transfused tons of blood. The intensive care units operate without pause, according to Lenta.UA.

“There is no day or night here: every day the medical staff perform up to a hundred operations, receive the most challenging patients, and fight for every life. Over the years of the war, the hospital has become one of the key medical centers where our defenders are saved,” noted Ruslan Stefanyshuk.

He thanked Serhiy Ryzhenko and the entire medical team for professionalism, humanity, and daily work, as well as the volunteers who support the hospital and its patients.

“Our mission is to defeat death. We are brought the most seriously wounded, and 95% of the fighters who arrived here during the war were saved,” said the hospital’s general director Serhiy Ryzhenko.

The Hope Foundation donated an Easy Pulse device for cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the hospital, and veterans with amputations received electric wheelchairs under the “Scooters for Heroes” program. Ambassador of the foundation, composer and pianist Yevhen Khmara, held a piano therapy session for patients and medical staff.

The Hope Foundation and its supervisory board chair, the first deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health of the Nation, Medical Care and Medical Insurance, Valeriy Dubyl, have supported the Mechnikov hospital since the early days of the full-scale invasion. During this period, the medical facility has received functional operating tables, Easy Pulse devices for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, artificial ventilation devices, surgical electrical systems, and substantial medical cargo—from consumables to equipment for stabilizing condition and rehabilitating the wounded.

“For us, supporting Mechnikov is one of the key priorities. Here every day they save the most severely wounded, and the availability of modern equipment directly determines whether a life can be saved,” said Valeriy Dubyl.
