LeBron James offered an emotional comment on the death of the Los Angeles Lakers' legendary arena announcer

Forward LeBron James expressed condolences in connection with the death of longtime arena announcer Lawrence Tanter for the Los Angeles Lakers, as reported by Glavkom citing James on X.

Lawrence Tanner died 24 in September at the age of 76.

"Rest in peace, Lawrence Tanner! I loved seeing you at almost every home game for the last eight years at the scoreboard table and always greeted you because you deserved it while you were alive! Your voice rang out through the entire arena. You made home games special! You will be greatly missed! Glad we had a little time together! My heart and prayers to your family and friends! I love you!", wrote James.

Lawrence Tanner was the arena announcer for the Los Angeles Lakers 43 for years in a row. In June 2026, Tanner officially announced his retirement due to health problems.

As reported, Ukraine national basketball team defender Maksym Shulga, together with his club Real Madrid, won the first-ever EuroLeague Super Cup.

Madrid's Real Madrid entered the history by defeating Olympiacos with a score of 93:89 in the final in Abu Dhabi. For Shulga, this is the first European trophy in his career.

The Ukrainian did not participate in the final against Olympiacos, not making the roster. In the semifinal, he played 5 minutes against Dubai.

Incidentally, the International Basketball Federation lifted part of the sanctions on Russians. World Basketball lifted the ban on participation in tournaments under its own aegis for Russian and Belarusian players. Coaches and officials were also reinstated from the ban.

As a reminder, earlier Dnipro refused to participate in European cups. The Ukrainian champion was supposed to start in the Europe Cup.
