MP stated the need to audit the salaries of SBUB employees

Ukrainian Member of Parliament Olga Vasiliyevska-Smagyuk (Servant of the People faction) said that the government must check whether salaries at the Bureau of Economic Security are being underreported. This requirement is part of the updated Plan for Ukraine Facility, she explained in her social media posts.

- By the end of the third quarter 2026 of year, the government should conduct a comprehensive analysis of salaries, pensions, and allowances of Bureau of Economic Security employees. They should be compared with the conditions at other similar agencies and state bodies to assess whether the conditions are equal. This is a separate step in the reform of rebooting the BES, included in the final draft of the Plan approved by the EU Council, the deputy noted.

At the same time, she stressed that the plan does not contain instructions to raise BES employees’ salaries. It is specifically about a comparative analysis.

The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine is a central executive body that investigates criminal offenses in the economic sphere. The bureau’s activities are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

At the end of August, the BES, together with cyber police operatives, uncovered a conversion center dealing with millions in cash, fake firms, and crypto assets. Dozens of controlled companies were involved in the scheme, through which received funds were converted into cash and virtual assets.

Earlier, the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine checked the well-known 'witch' Mariya Tyha after a request from Member of Parliament Yaroslav Jeleznyak.
