From 1 October drivers face fines: what everyone needs to know

In Ukraine this year the rules for drivers have been strictly changed. From 1 October to 1 May, all motor vehicles outside urban areas must have daytime running lights on, and if they are absent — low beam headlights. This requirement of the Traffic Rules is mandatory to comply with at any time of day. For its violation, a fine is provided — from 425 to 510 hryvnias, reports TSN. In the specified time of year, due to the shortening of daylight and weather conditions, there arises a need to increase the visibility of the vehicle for pedestrians and other road users, the publication reminds. We remind you that Ukraine is preparing to introduce a penalty points system, which has long been used in European Union countries. The aim of the innovation is to strengthen the punishment for drivers for systematic violations of the Traffic Rules. Meanwhile, “Phantoms” have returned to Ukrainian roads — special service cars that outwardly resemble ordinary cars almost indistinguishably. They are equipped with systems for automatic recording of speed violations.
