Russian attack damaged infrastructure of several Kyiv internet providers: consequences for subscribers

After the Russian attack on Kyiv 23 September, a number of internet providers reported damage to infrastructure, which may leave some subscribers without service.

As Dilo writes, in particular the provider "Domonet" reports damage to communication equipment.

"As a result of the latest Russian attack, our switching

equipment was damaged. Because of this, our subscribers currently have no access to the Internet at

the following addresses: Valeriy Lobanovskyi Ave., Kudriashova St., Ernst Fedor St., Novhorod-Siverska St., Mytropolyta

Vasyl Lypkivskyi St., Ushynskoho St.," —

Specialists have already found a solution to restore operation and plan to complete repairs. The team is working on restoring connectivity, the provider said.

Provider Kievnet reported damage to one of the data centers that supports part of the network. Due to a power outage, subscribers in the central part of the city may temporarily remain without internet access. They promise to provide additional information about restoration of service.

In addition, the company Faust also reported damage to infrastructure in connection with the Russian attack 23 September in its Telegram channel.

The provider said that repair work in Solomianskyi district of Kyiv (Batieva Hora, Osvity, Kryvonosa) will be able to begin only on 24 September due to restricted access to the impact site.

It also became known today that internet provider Etherlink, which serves subscribers in central Kyiv, reported problems providing services to users due to the Russian attack.

"Due to damage to the main internet node, there is currently no internet. The network core will be moved to another location; we are currently looking for a suitable site. Recovery timelines are not yet known," the provider said in a message in the support chat.

Earlier it was reported that a Ukrainian data center hosting the resources of hosting provider MiroHost was destroyed as a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv. The company currently cannot even name approximate timelines for restoring operation.
