Shmyhal proposed a comprehensive truce

The initiative was discussed at the meeting of the President of Ukraine and the President of the United States, and the details of the approach were worked out with the head of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Ukraine is ready for a comprehensive ceasefire that would cover not only protection of energy infrastructure but also security in the Black Sea. This was stated by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal on air at United News.

We are talking about a mutual cessation of strikes against the energy system, not about exchanges or concessions.

Shmyhal said that this initiative had already been discussed at the meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, and the details of the approach were worked out with American Energy Secretary Chris White.

"We are ready for such a conversation. The question is: is Russia ready for this conversation, for a full ceasefire?" said the minister.

The Ukrainian side is ready to consider an energy ceasefire in conjunction with a maritime ceasefire.

Such a comprehensive approach would allow the country to go through the upcoming heating season much more calmly and safely.

The minister emphasized, however, that Ukraine does not place its hopes on the enemy's honesty and continues systematic preparation for any scenarios.

"Everything to ensure that next winter for Ukraine in terms of energy is passed reliably - we are doing," summarized Shmyhal.

As we already wrote, Shmyhal reported that Ukrainian intelligence agencies obtained documents from the Russian Federation with plans to strike Ukraine's energy infrastructure for the winter.
