In Kyiv, Zelenskyy Visited the Maternity Hospital Damaged During a Missile Attack

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy visited Mostićkyi Maternity Hospital No. 2 in Kyiv, which sustained damage during the Russian attack 24 in September.

This was announced by the head of state on Telegram.

According to Zelenskiy, a boy named Kyrylo was born in the shelter of the medical facility during the night of the attack. The president arrived at the maternity hospital to greet the family, speak with women who are preparing to give birth, and support medical staff.

“Yesterday, during the Russian rocket attack on Kyiv, the maternity hospital was damaged. That night, in the shelter, little Kyrylo was born. Today I came to the maternity hospital to greet the family, converse with the women who are currently preparing to give birth here, and support our medical workers,” the president wrote.

Zelenskiy thanked the staff of the maternity hospital for their work and for continuing to help people even amid Russian attacks.

“Each of you deserves to give birth to your child in peace, without sirens and explosions. And every newborn deserves to start their life in peace. We are doing everything possible to make this happen as soon as possible,” he emphasized.

As a result of the Russian attack, the maternity hospital building No. 2 sustained damage. In particular, windows were blown out in the administrative wing and one of the departments.

During the air raid, patients and staff were in the shelter. Despite the damage, the medical team continued to provide obstetric and urgent gynecological care that day.
